The Howler Monkey

The Howler Monkey

The lush greens of the tropical rainforest, miles of sparkling white sandy beaches, reflecting the intense equatorial rays of the sun, simmering volcanoes and misty crater lakes.  All this and more will be yours to experience on this nine-day adventure to the Nicoya peninsula and the northern lowlands of Costa Rica. With a strong commitment to sustainability and a focus on preserving its natural resources, Costa Rica is a mecca for the eco-minded visitor.  The country boasts an amazing diversity of flora and fauna, is a birder's paradise, and an outdoor playground for water enthusiasts and land-lubbers alike.

Our itinerary takes you from the central highlands to the coastal waters surrounding the Nicoya peninsula and into the northern lowlands... a complete immersion into varied eco-systems that exists within the borders of this small country. In addition to sea kayaking around the picturesque islands and along the undeveloped shoreline of Curu National Park, you will also have opportunities to hike to waterfalls and scenic overlooks, enjoy leisurely strolls on the beach, visit a local coffee plantation, and if you choose enjoy an early morning yoga class or a horseback ride along the beach.   The evenings will be spent in local accommodations where you will have the chance to meet and enjoy the locals.
